Ceremonial Blue Glaze ( (also known as Jiqing Blue, Jilan, or Ji Blue) was a glaze color used in the imperial kilns during the Ming and Qing dynasties. Complemented by the imperial court’s specialized technique of white relief on a colored ground, the harmonious blend of blue and white glazes creates a mesmerizing effect. A crane with outstretched wings appears to break free from the glaze, as if ready to take flight.
